About the book

Most advice about starting over assumes you'll quit, move or blow everything up. Room to Begin offers something gentler and more durable: twelve chapters, each built around a ten-minute weekly practice, that help readers clear space in the life they already have before deciding what comes next.

Drawing on her work as a clinical psychologist and minister, Marisol Contreras writes with warmth and precision for anyone carrying wounds they learned to hide.

  5. How should someone tell friends and family they're changing?
  6. What do you say to a reader who keeps starting strong and falling off?
